Proper Nutrition:

Eating the right things is important but it is also to eat the right portions.  You should eat six times a day, 3 meals and 3 small snacks.  By doing this, you will keep your body in a state of continual metabolism which will be processing your food and burning fat.  You also want to stay away from foods that are high in sodium, high-fat, high in sugars and also high in cholesterol.  these foods will not help you and they will actually hinder your weight loss efforts.

Proper Cardio Training:

People think that if they just go on a treadmill or an elliptical machine for an hour or an hour and a half that they will lose weight.  The problem is that your body easily adapts to stuff quicker, so if you are running that long your body gets used to the motions and becomes a lot more efficient at it, which means it burns less calories as you continually run.  If you focus on interval training, like running fast for a minute then jogging for a minute and mixing it up, it keeps your body from being able to adapt to the motion of running.

Resistance Training:

Lifting weights, using a weight machine or doing body weight resistance training such as pushups or situps is important.  Building muscle helps to burn fat quicker, and so it is important to build lean muscle tissue.  Focus on lighter weights and doing more reps if you don’t want to bulk up.  but, resistance training is an extremely important part of any fast weight loss routine.
